Baking Supplies in Shanghai

Baking Supplies in Shanghai

So we got an oven yesterday (brand: Changdi, RMB 355) and I decided to do the most typical thing people do with a brand new oven in their kitchen for the 1st time in 10 years – bake a cake! The next question was – where could I get hold of a spatula, cake baking tray, ingredients, as this is the first time I would be doing a serious baking shopping session. After some amount of Googling, we decided to cycle to Aomen Lu, and it turned out to be a great find! This street is lined with EVERYTHING you need to have for a restaurant/ home kitchen, bar, cafe, dumpling shop, and what not. It is a haven for cheap, good quality stuff. BUT without losing focus, and after roaming around, picking up the spatula, oiling brush, and taking in all the wonders of culinary machinery (and asking via Google translate), we ended up at what looked like a crockery store from outside. Upon going deep into this store, we found the baking section, and I got what I needed. My baking tray (Kao Pan) cost me RMB 45 (no bargaining was possible). Next post on the amazing coffee depot we found.

Unfortunately i don’t know the name of the store, but it’s easy to spot, there are many in a line so a quick walk and you can find a few stores with the stuff you want. 🙂

      1. Okay thank you ❤
